London entertainment constantly reinvents itself and in summer things heat up, so we reveal hidden and new trends that emerge for the open-minded, curious and adventurous types.
1. Cruise Culture in full Swing
- Trending summer travel adventures this holiday season are “spicy” or adult-only cruises, offering themed playrooms, black-ring and pineapple symbols signalling, and seminars (e.g., G-spot workshops).
- Top Tip: Black Ring – A Subtle Swinger Signal – The right-hand black ring is a discreet cue among swingers—typically on any right-hand finger except the middle (to avoid confusion with asexual signals). Wearers might choose a ring, bracelet, anklet, or necklace—even stamped with the “swing” symbol (__/)—as a silent identifier.
- Clubs like Bliss Cruises price cabins from £2,000–£15,000, with strict no-drug policies but widespread use of Viagra.
2. Roadside Diners turn Sex Shops
- Former roadside diners (Little Chef, Happy Eater) along the A1 are now flourishing adult shops dubbed the “sex corridor,” catering to swingers en route to clubs.
- Stores like Pulse & Cocktails in Grantham stock lingerie, toys, and glow-in-the-dark gear and are frequented by couples prepping for a swinging night.
3. Digital Swinging on the Rise
- UK swingers increasingly use niche dating apps like 3Fun or SwingHub to arrange threesomes or group sessions. SwingHub claims 40k users; 3Fun data from 2018–19 placed London top among UK cities for swinger couple sign-ups.
4. London’s New Underground Hot Spots
- Discreet clubs like Ignite (formerly Abfabs/Kestrels) near Heathrow offer spa-style amenities, private rooms, dark areas, cinema play-chill zones, and upscale female-led consent practices. For more hot spots, head here.
- Membership often requires photo ID and interviews, with a mixed crowd spanning the 20s to the 70s. Couples and singles mingle during day and evening events.
- A Georgian mansion in Dulwich, South London, sparked controversy after operating as a £200/head swingers’ club under a black‑tie/fetish dress code near a school.
The next heatwave is definitely on the cards this summer – so make sure you’re prepared!
